She studied philosophy at Cracow University. After coming to America she learned iconography from Greek and Russian iconographers. She has also studied iconography in Greece.
Mankowska has painted icons for 20 years. She sells icons by custom order or ready made. She teaches painting to individual students.
She is a member of Holy Epiphany Russian Church in Boston/Roslindale where she sings in the choir. She is married and has two children.
